The crazy quilt coat is made from an American quilt, circa 1920s. Made from scraps of silk and cotton, with Alpaca fur trim.
American Crazy Quilts rose to popularity in the late 19th century due to English embroidery and Japanese art displayed at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, a world fair celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
